Loggers Advance to Take on ICC in Region 24 Tournament

Lincoln Land defeated Parkland 6-5 in the tournament opener and came back in the 2^nd game to defeat Heartland 11-4 to advance undefeated into the next round.

GAME ONE: vs. Parkland Community College
Katie McLean led the Logger offense going 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs.  Ashton Dyche was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs along with 2 hits for freshman Kaley Maurer.   

Brittany Roady was winning pitcher for the Loggers.  Roady went 6 innings, allowing 5 runs (3 earned) with 4 strikeouts.  Maddie Routh picked up the save as she shut down the Cobra offense.

GAME TWO: vs. Heartland Community College
The Loggers came back in the nightcap with a big win over Heartland.  Leading 5-3 going into the 7^thinning, the Loggers scored 6 runs on 5 hits and one sacrifice fly.   Kari Sarhage had 3 hits and 3 RBIs to lead the charge offensively for the Loggers. Katie McLean, Katelyn Presley, Madie Sims and Hailey Patrick post 2 hits each in the victory.

Addison Bryant went the distance and was the winning pitcher as she gave up 4 runs (3 earned) on 7 hits and 8 Ks.  Tijanne Ross was the losing pitcher for the Hawks.

The Loggers advance in the Region 24 Tournament to take on Illinois Central College on Friday, at 2:30 pm.
The Loggers are now 30-18 on the year.
