Loggers Take Down Big Blue

The Loggers took on the Big Blue of Millikin University Wednesday and hit their way to a blow out 11-1 win. Jack O'Connor was the winning pitcher for the Loggers. O'Connor pitched 2 scoreless innings and gave up just 3 hits and struck out 3. O'Connor was relieved by a handful of Logger pitchers who were able to follow up O'Connor and keep the game under control. Talon File started off the scoring for Lincoln Land with a missile over the left centerfield wall, scoring Dalton Fletcher for a 2-0 lead. The Loggers added 8 more runs by the 3rd inning and found themselves with a comfortable 10 run lead. File finished the day 2-4 with 4 RBI. Dalton Fletcher had a great day at the plate, finishing 4-4 with an RBI. CJ Fleming chipped in 3 RBI and Cade Sestak also added one. 

The Loggers improve to 24-22 (12-12 MWAC) on the season. They continue conference play this weekend with a series against John Wood Community College. First pitch will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Springfield at Claude Kracik Field.
