Men's basketball can't pull second Parkland upset, see season end

The Lincoln Land men's basketball team attempted to upset Parkland Community College for the second game in a row, but fell 78-65 to the Cobras.

In the first round of the Region 24 Tournament Lincoln Land took on Parkland Community College and attempted to take down the Cobras for the second game in a row. However, issues that Lincoln Land has struggled with reared their head through out the evening. Lincoln Land found themselves down 8-0 before they were able to put in their first field goal of the night. Early on Lincoln Land struggled to score and found themselves down double digits early in the contest. Lincoln Land was able to fight back and went into the half trailing 32-26. In the second half the Loggers cut the score to 5 on multiple occasions, but could not get over the hump to get closer than that. Parkland responded by knocking in big shot after big shot and pushed their lead back to double digits. Lincoln Land wore down and found themselves down by as many as 23 in the half. The Loggers cut into that deficit, but never got back into the game.

On the evening sophomore D'Aaron Owens ended his Logger career with a career and game high 29 points. Sophomore Trace Gentry added 11, and freshman Jake Pennell added 13, the only other Loggers in double digits.

Lincoln Land ended the year 12-17.
