LLCC defeated MWAC rival in a non-conference, non-region match Saturday in four sets. The Loggers were able to win the first behind the hitting of Addie Patton and her six kills, helped by aggressive serving from freshman Lainey Jackson. In the second set though, LLCC was beset by errors, including six unforced to start the game, eventually digging a 2-11 hole, finishing the set with 17 unforced errors. "You can't let a team get more than 2/3 of their points without touching the ball. Not even Penn State or Stanford can score that way," Coach Dietz said after the match. "We came out focused though after that point. We don't quit—just have our little record skips." The Loggers built big leads in each of the last two sets after falling behind in each of them by 4-1 scores. The third set was powered by Kourtney Bilyeu and two thunderous kills and another two solo-blocks while the fourth set turned on the serving of Kaylee Beekman. "We finished strong. The big thing is—we face them again Wednesday and that's the conference and Region match. They are scrappy and we have to be ready on a quick turnaround."
