Freshman Brittany Roady
Lincoln Land Loggers take two from DACC, winning 14-0 and 9-0 two 5 inning 8 run ruled games at home today. The Loggers out hit the Cougars 23-7 in the double header. "Our pitchers were on point today," stated Coach John Marsaglia after the wins. "I was very impressed with the way we hit and especially how we shut down a very good hitting team."
Brittany Roady went 5 innings of scoreless softball. Roady allowed only 3 hits with 5 strikeouts in game one. The Loggers scored 14 runs on 12 hits. Katie McLean was 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 doubles. Ashton Dyche was 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs, including a solo homerun in the 3rd. Whitney David went 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs.
"The toughest game to win is the one after a blow out," said Coach Marsaglia. The Loggers came out strong in game two, scoring first on 2 RBI homerun by Morgan Heckman. The Loggers out hit the Cougars 11-4 in game two. Whitney David was 2-for-2 with a 2 RBI homerun in the 3rd. Ashton Dyche hit her 2nd homerun (2 RBIs) on the day as well.
Sophomore Bri Graham
Bri Graham picked up the win, throwing a 4 hit shutout. "Bri struggled yesterday in her start at DACC, but today she was looking for another chance to beat the Cougars. She was very good at keeping them off balance forcing them to hit the ball in the ground."
The Loggers are now 17-15 on the year and will travel to East Central Missouri on Wednesday.
