Katie McLean 4-for-7
Parkland and Lincoln Land faced off today in a conference and region battle.  Parkland scored 4 runs in game 2 to win 4-2 and the Loggers came back to win game two, 1-0.  Jordan Kraft was the losing pitcher in game one.  Only 2 of the 4 runs scored were earned as Kraft scattered 10 hits with 6 strikeouts.  The Cobras had a big inning in the 6th inning as they scored 3 runs to break the 1-1 tie.   The Loggers came back and scored 1 run in the 7th and had the winning run at the plate.   Katie McLean was 2-for-4 along with Morgan Heckman who went 2-for-3  Lexy Koester and Kelsie Allen each had doubles for the Loggers.

Game two was a pitching dual between Logger sophomore Bri Graham and Sophie Catlin for the Cobras.  Bri Graham threw a 3 hit shutout, facing 26 batters and striking out 5 Cobra hitters.  "It was a good game to watch," said Coach John Marsaglia.  "Both Graham and Jordan Kraft deserved wins today, but that's softball.  I was proud of the girls today for the way that they competed."   Katie McLean (2-for-3) again led the way offensively for the Loggers in game two. The Loggers scored in the 2nd inning on a lead off double by Ashton Dyche followed by a sacrifice bunt by Whitney David.  One out, Maggie Comerford was hit by a pitch.  Freshman Madison Routh hit a sacfly to right to scored Ashton Dyche from 3rd for what would be the winning run.

The Loggers will travel tomorrow to play Parkland to finish the 4 game set.   Parkland is now 35-18 (16-6 MWAC) and LLCC is now 26-18 and 15-7 in the MWAC race.  Game time tomorrow is 1 pm.
