Madison Routh
Day two of the Florida trip, the Loggers beat the Hawks of Lake Sumter (DI) 9-0 in game one and losing game two 7-9. LLCC scored 4 runs in the first inning to set the stage for their third win in a row. Ashton Dyche led the Logger offense going 4 for 4 (3 RBIs) with a 2 run homer in the 6th. Morgan Heckman went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Freshman shortstop Katelyn Presley also collected two hits.
Madison Routh (1-0) collected her first win, going 6 innings and facing 26 Lake Sumter hitters. Routh gave up 8 hits and allowed 4 runs, all earned. Sophomore Bri Graham threw the 7 inning and face 4 hitters.
The Loggers took the lead 5 -1in game two. In the bottom of third inning Lake Sumter exploded with 7 runs to take the lead 8-5. Freshman Whitney David took over on the mound in the fourth inning and allowed 1 run to make it 9-5. Lincoln Land responded with two runs in the 6th where the game ended 9-7 Lake Sumter. Starting pitcher, Brittany Roady pitched 2 2/3 innings giving up 8 runs on 8 hits and one walk. David went 3 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits.
Katelyn Presley was 3 for 4 and scored 3 runs. Katie McLean went 2 for 4 along with Morgan Heckman who hit a 2 run homer to dead center in the 3rd inning. LLCC and Lake Sumter both produced 13 hits in the game. LLCC will travel tomorrow to Daytona State for a double header starting at 2:30 pm.
