Sophomore Oscar Cardillo
Today the Loggers defeated St. Charles College 6-2 in their home opener. LLCC got on the board first with a Oscar Gordillo penalty kick 15 minutes into the game. They followed with a head ball goal by Eli Hopkins at the 23rd minute off a Jordan Lovell throw in. Another penalty kick was awarded to Gordillo that gave the Loggers a 3-0 lead. St Charles got on the board 30 minutes into the 1st half with a goal from Sam Liddington. LLCC led at the half 3-1.
St. Charles struck first in the second half getting a penalty kick that allowed Sam Liddington to score his second goal at the 10 minute mark. Loggers took it from there adding 3 more goals on the board from Oscar Gordillo, Kaleb Woods and Mountaga Diallo. Coach Peter Christofilakos commented, "It was a very physical game. We had 5 yellow cards, St Charles had 7 yellow cards and 2 red cards late in the game." Alex Clark and Alex Hammerlink split goal keeping duties with each one allowing just one goal. Clark had 8 saves and Hammerlink had 3 saves.
