Logger's Season Ends, Lose 4-2

The Lincoln Land Logger's (39-20) season came to an end Saturday afternoon with a 4-2 loss to John Wood Community College. The Blazers took a 2-0 lead off Logger starter Ryan Arnold (7-4) on Zach Whalin's two out, two strike, two run single to right center. John Wood would add single runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth innings to take a 4-0 lead.

John Wood starting pitcher Trevor Nierman(3-1) kept the Logger offense in check to earn the win for the Blazers. Nierman pitched five scoreless innings, allowing three hits, two walks, and struck out four. The Logger's, who out hit the Blazers 7-6, scored two runs in the top of the eighth. Logger catcher Jake Morsch singled in Tyler Ring for their first run of the game. Lincoln Land loaded the bases and scored their second run of the inning on a walk to Michael Ryan. The threat was ended when Peyton Minder struck out to end the inning. Morsch and second baseman Xavier Collier both finished the game with two hits apiece.

The NJCAA Region 24 continues at Lincoln Land Community College's Claude Kracik field. John Wood moves on to play top seeded Parkland College, the winner will move on to meet Heartland (2-0) in the Championship game. That game is scheduled for 12:00pm on Sunday.
