LLCC softball lose doubleheader to Parkland 4-2 and 1-0 in the first set of a four game series. Weather permitting, the Loggers will host the Cobras tomorrow starting at 1 pm.
Lincoln Land jumped out to 2-0 lead in the first inning. Anna Walschleger reached first on a error followed by Taylen Balding's hit to center advancing Walschleger to third. Cindy Garces doubled down the line to score Walschleger. Clean up hitter, Courtney Reeves drew a walk and Morgan Heckmand singled to center to score Balding. Jaclyn Thompson (W) then retired the next three Loggers hoding them to 2 runs. Thompson held the Loggers to just 2 runs on 6 hits with 9 Ks. Balding and Garces were the only multiple hit players for LLCC. Bri Graham was the losing pitcher allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 11 hits.
The Cobras picked up the conference win on 1 unearned run. Mansur held Parkland to 3 hits with 3 strike outs. Lincoln Land could only produce 2 hits as Erin Walker picked up win. Both pitchers performed very well with almost identical stats with the only difference was a 3 error 5th inning for the Loggers. Taylen Balding collected both hits on doubles in the 3rd and 6th innings.
Loggers are 9-5 in MWAC and 16-12 overall.
