Xavier CollierThe Lincoln Land Loggers (19-10) added two victories to their record on Sunday afternoon, beating Lincoln College 13-1 and 19-4 and sweeping the conference series.
The Logger offense tallied 33 hits on the day. Ben Hecht led the way in game one, driving in three runs on his 4 for 4 performance, falling only a homerun shy of the cycle. Xavier Collier had 3 hits and 4 runs batted in, including a three run inside the park homerun in the fifth inning. Tyler Borski, Jake Morsch , and Peyton Minder had two hits each.
Freshman Chris Robinson picked up the game one win evening his record on the year at 2-2. He scattered 7 hits and struck out 4 in his 5 innings of work, surrendering the only Lynx run in the bottom of the first inning.
An eight run second inning, followed by four more in the third, and another six in the fifth, allowed the Loggers to coast for the sweep. Lincoln College pitchers allows 16 hits and 11 walks to the Logger offense. Sophomore shortstop Tyler Ring had three hits, including a two run triple, and tallied four RBIs. Jake Morsch also drove in four on his three hit performance, three of them coming on a homerun in the second inning. Matt Sekardi was 3 for 4 with a double and Conor White was 2 for 4 with a triple and three runs batted in.
Sophomore southpaw Konner Aherin(1-0) collected his first win on the season, pitching three strong innings allowing only 3 hits and striking out 6.
The Loggers are now 10-2 in the MWAC conference. They are scheduled to play next at home against Quincy University this coming Wednesday at 4:00.
