Danville Area Community College - 90
LLCC - 70
Lincoln Land men's basketball dropped their second conference game in a row to Danville Community College, 90-70.
The Loggers dominated the first half, shooting 55% from three point arch. With under 4:00 to go in the half Lincoln Land held that 14 point edge, but it was dwindled to 9 by half. Lincoln Land held the half time lead over the Jaguars of DACC 44-35.
The momentum shifted in the second half very quickly as the hot Logger shooting disappeared and by halfway through the second half. LLCC saw themselves in a 12 point hole. Danville's defense was able to force the Loggers into quick and poor shots as the Logger lead was lost. On the other end, the Loggers only managed 3 stops on the first 20 possession of the second half. The Loggers trailed by as many as 21 on the way to the 20 point loss. Lincoln Land was able to cut it to only 10 with just over 4:00 to go, but were unable to get any closer.
Coach Chad Jones commented on the disappointing loss, "This was bad tonight. We let them make a run and we let all the energy we played with in the first half disappeared and it went downhill from there. We missed a lot of open shots tonight, but I felt like some of them were ill advised at times. If we want to win moving forward we have to take better shots."
Sophomore Eddie Longmeyer led the Loggers with 26 points and 8 rebounds, both team highs. Freshman Harold Robertson added 14 and sophomore Marshall Corbin chipped in 11.
Lincoln Land falls to 16-11 and 4-3 in the conference. Lincoln Land travels to East Peoria to take on Illinois Central College on Saturday afternoon.
