1st Loss at Home for Men's Basketball by the Archers 79-48

Lincoln Land – 48
St. Louis Community College - 70

Lincoln Land fell for the second game in a row for the first time this season and for the first time at home at the hands of the Archers of St. Louis Community College, 70-48.

Last game out Lincoln Land struggled to shoot the ball and tonight followed that performance with another cold night from the field as they were only able to convert on 37% of their shots and 30% from three. Coupled with the poor shooting the Loggers committed a season high 28 turnovers.

Lincoln Land actually held a 27-26 lead late in the first half, but a run buy St. Louis put them up 36-32 at half. The Loggers struggled horribly coming out of the break and were able to score only 2 points in the first 13:00 of the second half and with 4:00 to go in the game had only scored 6 in the second half. During that stretch STLCC went on a 39-9 run.

"I am so disappointed in tonight. We did not do anything we practiced or talked about for a week. I can live with missed shots, but we had so many foolish turnovers and I do not think we played very hard. Unfortunately, we get all break to live with this loss, but hopefully that motivates us to get going next semester," stated Chad Jones following the loss.

Lincoln Land only had one scorer in double digits, sophomore Alex Portwood who ended with 10 points, all from first half baskets.

Lincoln Land falls to 9-4 on the year. They will go on Winter Break and will return January 12 at MacMurray College in Jacksonville against their Junior Varsity team.
