The Loggers were unable to out score ICC in the Region XXIV losing both games, 8-6 and 8-7. LLCC, down 8-1 made a charge in the 7th inning and scored 5 runs with two outs only to come up short. Rachel Wisner hit a two run homer in the 7th inning. Pinch hitter, Cindy Garces double to left center with two outs to start the attempted rally for the Loggers. Sadie Mosher followed with a double and an RBI. Courtney Reeves singled and Rachel Hastings followed with an RBI single. Rachel Wisner then hit a two run homer to dead center. Hayley Long (18-4) was the losing pitcher for the Loggers.
LLCC needed to win game two but once again they came up short, losing 8-7. Game two turned out to be an old fashion boxing match as both teams slugged it out. The line score was identical in every inning with the exception of the first as ICC scored 3 and the Loggers 2 and that was the difference. Courtney blasted two home runs and Sadie Mosher and Rachel Hastins had a homer each. Sadie Mosher went the distance in game two, allowing 8 runs (6 earned) and striking out four.
ICC will automatically advance to the NJCAA Nationals, May 13-16 in Clinton, Mississippi. The Loggers will face off with East Central Missouri for a best of three playoff to be held at LLCC, May 8-9th.
