Loggers Win to Advance to NJCAA World Series

LLCC Defeats John Wood 6-3 to Win Region XXIV

LLCC answered the call in the top of the 10th inning to beat John Wood 6-3 and to take the Region XXIV Championship.,, John Wood led the Loggers 3-1 going into the top of the 8th but not for long., Carter,Pranger led the inning off with a single through the left side., Jake Morsch grounded out to the pitcher, moving Pranger to second., Pranger then advanced to third on a wild pitch.,, Nick Lonergan then singled through the left side to score Pranger.,, Lonergan stole second base and Austin Muench came up with a clutch double to left center to score Lonergan and tie the game 3 all.

The Loggers answered the call in the top of the 10th as Nick Lonergan singled to shortstop., Lonergan then stole his second base on the day., Austin Muench bunted (sacrifice) Lonergan to third., Sam Goode singled through the right side to drive home Lonergan., Conor White then homered to right center to put two more runs on the board., That was all that Nick Lonergan needed to pick up his first win of the year in relief. LLCC pitchers; Lucas Hall, Konnor Aherin and Lonergan combined to hold John Wood to 3 runs on 9 hits., LLCC posted 16 hits., Lonergan pitched 3 innings, gave up 3 hits and had 5 strikeouts.

Nick Lonergan, who,was the MVP of the tournament, led the Loggers offensively going 5-for-5, 2 RBIs and a double., Colby Griggs, and Austin Muench also doubled in today's win., Will Schneider, Carter Pranger and Zach Barnhart each collected two hits to support the offensive efforts.

"I'm so proud of them., Our guys fought very hard and they never gave up," commented Coach Ron Riggle. "We had some big hits from Sam Goode and Conor White."

LLCC advances to the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enod, Oklahoma., The Loggers will play at noon on Saturday,against Frederick Community College.
