Lincoln Land traveled to Plant City, Florida today, splitting the double-header with Hillsborough CC 2-10 and 5-4.  The Loggers struggled in game one scoring only 2 runs on 8 hits.  Starting pitcher Hayley Long went 4 innings allowing 9 runs and giving up 11 hits.  Lindsay Floyd relieved Long to finish the game in the 5th by the 8 run rule. 

Rachel Hastings and Anna Walschleger were the only Logger hitters with multiple hits.  Walshlegger was 2-for-3 and Hastings went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs. 

Game 2 was better played for the Loggers.  Starting pitcher Sadie Mosher had a rocky start as HCC scored 3 runs (2 earned) in the first inning.  LLCC came back and scored 1 run in the 2nd and 2 runs to tie the game 3 all through the 7th inning.  Lincoln Land scored 2 runs in the tie breaker to lead 5-3.  HCC scored 1 run as Mosher pitched out of a jam to win 5-4.  Mosher is 1-3 on the season.   Mosher went all 8 innings giving up 9 hits and striking out 6.  Coach John Marsaglia said, "Sadie was in control with all of her pitches today.  She hit her locations very well and the defense picked her when it was needed.  It was a very good win against a very good NJCAA Division I team.

Anna Walschleger had two hits in the game and Jackie Hoffmeier was 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs.


Lincoln Land  will travel to Titusville, Florida tomorrow to play at the Chain of Lakes park.  The Loggers will play Waldorf College at 11 am and Rainy River CC at 1 pm.
