The Lincoln Land men's basketball team fell in Quincy to the John Wood Community College Blazers 69-56.

Lincoln Land's conference struggles continued on Saturday afternoon. At one point the Loggers led at 20-19. It all fell apart from there. From then on, John Wood went on a 43-10 run that ran in to the second half. At that point the Blazers led by a game high 32, at 62-30. Lincoln Land chipped away over the last 12 minutes to close the gap immensely. However, Lincoln Land never got close enough to make it interesting.

Lincoln Land was out rebounded by 17 and outshot from the field. Lincoln Land did commit three less turnovers, but gave up too many second chance points to contend.

"Every time we make steps forward, we have a game like today. John Wood is very talented, but our effort and intensity has to get better. If we don't change our mindset, this is going to be the result every night," stated Head Coach Chad Jones.

Lincoln Land was led in scoring by freshman Eddie Longmeyer who had 16 points, he also led the team in rebounds with five. Fellow freshman Edin "Dino" Mehmedovic added in 15 points.

LLCC drops to 13-11 on the season and 0-5 in conference. They will play Monday afternoon at home against MacMurray' JV.
