LLCC traveled to SWIC tonight for a Region XXIV volleyball match, an evening filled with interesting events as a pair of auto accidents in the Springfield area delayed LLCC's arrival in Belleville by almost an hour.  The Loggers were sluggish out of the gate with the game tied at 10 and the Blue Streak remaining close until a final run marked by two Brenna Perinar kills and a tip kill by Taylor Wienke gave the Loggers a 25-18 win.  Game two featured a delay when a scorekeeper momentarily disappearee, but the confusion didn't stop LLCC from getting on a roll, pulling out to a 6-1 initial lead and then following three Claire Reinthaler kills, opening it up to 20-12 and a 25-16 win.  Set three started close with an 8-8 tie, but behind a balanced attack from the Loggers offense, the Loggers pulled away quickly with a 17-4 run to win 25-12.

Coach Jim Dietz shared mixed emotions after the game,"We were focused tonight, just odd circumstances.  There was an odd event in game one as well at 5-5, but we got through that.  For me, all I could think about during the evening was the big wreck just south of Springfield.  We play a game, but things like that--they just make you want to hug your kids and family.  I hope everyone involved is all right."
