Soccer Wins 4-2 over Coffeyville CC

White scores "hat trick" in win over Coffeyvile
LLCC Men's Soccer team evened their record at 1-1 as they defeated a very tough Coffeyville County team today by the score of 4-2 in Overland Park, Kansas. 

Zabian Morris scored the first goal of the match on a beautiful assist from high school All-State selection Luke Rectenwal.  Nine minutes later Coffeyville was able to even the match 1-1 off of a Ricky Velasquez goal.  The Red Raven standout Paul Vac Claudio scored the go ahead goal 2-1.  With 11 minutes left in the first half, Tennessee freshman Bewar Mohammad passed to Logger Harry White who scored to even the score again at 2-2.  The first half ended in a draw with Coffeyville outshooting the Loggers 9-7.

The Loggers came out in the second half with focus and determination as they scored 9 minutes in on another pass from Rectenwal to Harry White.  LLCC  maintained possession throughout the entire second half and scored their final goal with 11 minutes remaining as Luke Rectenwal took off down the line beating 4 defenders to set up the anticipating Harry White for his "hat trick" goal of the game.
LLCC stayed strong and confident throughout the 4-2 victory.  Coffeyville outshot LLCC 8-6.  Logger freshman goalkeeper Memo Guerrero played large again today with 15 quality saves.

Coach Dunas stated that he was very proud of the boy's efforts. "The boys rose up to the occasion today and got the victory. Every player gave 100% when they were on the pitch. I have complete confidence in this team. I know we will continue to grow throughout the season and put all the pieces together by the time Regional Championship play comes along. Harry White, Luke Rectenwal, Memo Guerrero and Jake Stults all did spectacular today!
 
The Loggers will have a week off before resuming play Saturday August 30th against 14th ranked Waubonsee team.
