Baseball Splits Again with ICC, 7-4 and 4-12

Lincoln Land traveled to East Peoria to finish their 4 game set with Cougars.  The Loggers won game one 7-4 and lost game two 4-12.  LLCC scored 7 runs on 9 hits to push past the Cougars.  Trailing 3-2 the Loggers had a big 4th inning as they scored 4 runs on 3 hits and 2 Cougar errors.   Sam Goode led off the inning with a single through the left side of the infield.  Nick Lonergan followed with a single to right advancing Goode to 2nd base.  Drew Levitt reached on an error but was credited with a sacrifice bunt.  Austin Muench flied out to left but no one advanced.  With 1 out, Neal Aherin reached on a throwing error by the pitcher (2nd error).  All runners moved as Goode scored to tie the game. Will Schneider flew out to left for out number 2.  Colby Griggs (3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and 2 triples) came through with a triple to center and drove in two more runs, both unearned.  Michael Reavy ended the inning on a grounder to second base.  Sam Goode and Nick Lonergan each added two hits in the win.

Michael Ringer (5-1) was the winning pitcher for the Loggers.  Ringer went 5 innings and allowed 4 runs on 6 hits.  Tyler Borski struck out 3 Cougar hitters in his two innings of work to pick up the save.

LLCC was out hit 12-6 to lose game two, 12-4.  The Loggers scored 2 runs in the first inning and the Cougars answered with 3 runs in their half. Trailing, the Loggers answered with 1 run only to be trumped again as the Cougars scored 4 runs in the second inning.   ICC scored 5 more runs in game two and LLCC score 1 run in the top of the 7th. 

Reed Willenborg (L, 5-3) was lifted in the second inning.  LLCC used 4 pitchers in the loss (Logan Faber, Lucas Hall, and Blake Welch).  Nick Lonergan was 2-for-4 and the only Logger with multiple hits

Lincoln Land is now 36-15 and 18-10 in the conference.
