The Lady Loggers improve to 28-5 as they defeated the Trail Blazers 12-1 and 8-0 today at LLCC. The Loggers posted 17 hits in game one and scored 6 runs in the first inning. Logger pitching held the Trail Blazers to just one run on a solo home run by Christina White.
Whitley Baker (6-0) picked up the win. Baker gave up 2 hits in 3 innings of work and struck out 3 hitters. Baker, Sadie Mosher and Morgan Smith combined to hold the Trail Blazers to just 3 hits. Melinda Wilson 3-for-3 at the plate with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Laura Bonds was 3-for-4 and 2 RBIs in game one. Rachel Hastings, Lauren Windisch and Stephanie Watkins added two hits each in the victory.
The Loggers struck first in game two, scoring 5 runs in the first inning. Stephanie Watkins was 3-for-3 with 3 RBIs including a lead off solo home run in the third inning. Kayla Jacobs went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs along with two hits each from Lauren Windisch and Rachel Hastings.
Katie Lange got the win in game two. Lange went 3 innings, allowing only 2 hits with 3 strike outs. Lange, Claire Dubree and Hayley Long combined for a two-hit shutout.
