Lincoln Land baseball hosted Danville Area Community College at Claude Kracik Field today in a conference doubleheader. LLCC won the first game easily 10-2 but lost game two 5-4. The Loggers posted 13 hits in the 8 run ruled opening win. The Loggers had six hitters who collected 2 hits each. Tyler Borski led the Loggers going 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs.
Ridge Ackerman picked up his 6
th win of the year, going 7 innings. Ackerman face 33 hitters allowing two earn runs, 2 walks and 4 strike outs. Lukas Hall pitched the 8
th inning striking out 2 Cougar hitters.
Danville jumped out to a quick lead scoring 3 in the first inning and 1 run in the 2
nd to take a quick 4-0 lead. The Cougars would score another run in the 5
th inning. LLCC came back scoring 3 runs in the 3
rd inning and 1 run in the 7
th to fall short of DACC 5-4. The Loggers were out hit 11 hits to 5 in game two.
Sawyer Howard (2-3) pitched 6 innings in the 5-4 loss. Howard allowed 11 hits while striking out 6 hitters. Ryan Bailey finished the game going 1 inning and striking out 2 Cougars.
LLCC is now 19-8 on the season and 7-3 in the MWAC.
