The Lady Loggers power past Spoon River, 12-2 and 16-4. LLCC scored 12 runs on 10 hits in game one. Lauren Windisch went 2-for-4 and Lindsay Floyd was 2-for-3 to lead the Loggers in hitting. Morgan Smith was the winning pitcher in game one. Smith (6-0) threw 4 innings and Sadie Mosher pitched the last inning in relief. Smith allowed 2 runs on 3 hits while striking out 6 Spoon River hitters.
LLCC scored 6 runs in the first inning to set the tone for game two. The Loggers then scored 3, 4 and 3 runs respectfully to finish game two by the 8 run rule. Winning pitcher was Lindsay Floyd (1-1) in game two. Floyd was relieved in the 5
th inning by sophomore Jaimey Watrous. Floyd allowed 4 runs on 5 hits and striking out 5 Snapper hitters. Sadie Mosher went 4-for-4 with 3 RBIs including a 2 run blast (HR) to centerfield. Torey Sorensen also added 4 hits along with Katie Price, Claire Dubree and Stephanie Watkins with multiple hits in the win. Lindsay Floyd hit a solo homer, her second in two days, back to back with Mosher in the 4
th inning.
The Loggers are now 33-6 and 13-3 in the MWAC. LLCC will take on Region foe, Illinois Central at LLCC tomorrow starting at 3 pm.
