LLCC softball split with St. Petersburg Community College, losing game one in the 7
th inning 4-3 and coming back strong in came two to win 15-6. LLCC is now 12-3 on the season.
Freshman pitcher, Hayley Long (1-1) went all 7 innings to pick up the loss. Long allowed 5 hits, 6 walks and 3 strike outs. All 4 runs were earned. Offensively, the Loggers scored 1 in the first and 2 in the third. Laura Bonds was 2-for-4 and Rachel Hastings homered and had 2 RBIs. St. Petersburg scored two runs in the bottom of the 7
th inning to take the win.
Game two, the Loggers sought revenge as they exploded offensively collecting 12 hits and 4 stolen bases. Sadie Mosher (3-0) got the win, going 5.1 innings and allowing 5 runs on 9 hits. Rachel Wisner (3-for-3 and 3 RBIs) and Melinda Wilson (3-for-5 and 2 RBIs) led the Loggers offensively. Catcher Stephanie Watkins went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs to add to the offense.
