Loggers End Regular Season Defeating Robert Morris 6-0

LLCC soccer finished the season with a big win as they edged the Eagles 6-0 tonight and gained momentum going into the first game of the Region XXIV tournament this Saturday versus Parkland College.

Twenty minutes in the first half, Timmy Kasa slid a pass to Adrian Manzano who scored his team leading 12th goal of the season.   Four minutes later, Timmy Kasa took matters into his own hands as he buried a beautifully placed shot from 20 yards out.

The Loggers maintained control of the ball and scored their 3rd goal at the 30 minute mark on a Stone Cassad cross to Luke Rectenwal to give his team a 3-0 lead at half.

Second half play mirrored the first as the Loggers maintained possession throughout the half and started their scoring off early. Five minutes in LLCC started their scoring again when Dylan Butler played a great ball to Sergio Vargas who beat a defender before shooting the ball into the side netting for their 4th goal. It took the Loggers another 20 minutes of controlling the game before they broke free again. At the 35 minute mark, Timmy Kasa scored his second goal of the match to put LLCC up 5-0. Scoring concluded when Paul Born assisted Luke Rectenwal on a right footed goal that resulted in his second of the match and a 6-0 lead for LLCC.

Coach Shawn Dunas stated, "The boys looked good today, hopefully we will carry this momentum forward into the regional. I feel that if we show up to play, we can beat any team in our region."  The Loggers outshot Robert Morris 32-2 with 6 corner kicks to just one for the Eagles.

LLCC will travel to Champaign to face a tough Parkland squad at noon Saturday. "Every game now is either the last or next to last from this point on…."
