Starting slow for a second straight match, the Loggers lost game one against Rend Lake Friday evening 25-21, before winning the final three games of the match by scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-10 to raise the squad's record to 5-1.

Leading the way for the Loggers was freshman Sammie Voils who led all hitters with 17 kills. Lindsay Hathcoat contributed 27 digs while sophomore hitters Michaleen Forman and Kayla Hamilton combined for eighteen kills.

"I'm always concerned by slow starts," Coach Dietz said. "We paid for being sluggish tonight with the way game one went and the first half of game two. We need to find the energy we came out with at match's end, but do that for a full match. That's something that will come with time--six matches is still in the feeling-out part of the schedule."

Lincoln Land plays three more matches Saturday, starting at 9am against Kellogg CC from Michigan.
