Loggers Kick Past Southwestern Illinois College 6-1

LLCC Men's Soccer rebounded to beat SWIC 6-1 tonight in a Region XXIV match-up. The Loggers were able to turn things around after a tough loss against 14th ranked Jefferson College last Saturday. Coach Shawn Dunas remarked, "I was proud of the way the boys turned things back around after a tough 2-0 loss on Saturday."

The Loggers eliminated any doubt that they were ready to play with three first half goals. Tajay Small scored his 9th goal of the year on an assist from Joel Mutela. Harry White followed with both his 7th and 8th goal of the season. Captain Connor Carnduff followed closely on their heels with his 6th and 7th goals.

Freshman Joel Mutela also collected his 5th goal of the season to finalize the game 6-1. Ubaldo Olvera was on top of his game with 8 terrific saves, all of which came in the second half. "The only team that can beat these boys is themselves," responded Coach Dunas.

18th ranked Loggers are now 3-0 in the Region and 8-1 overall. The Loggers travel Thursday to face a strong Illinois Wesleyan JV squad.
