Men's Soccer Wins at Harper College
Small
Today marked the opening day for the Logger's 2013 Soccer season with Harper College as the opponents. The LLCC Men's soccer team had to overcome adversity as they started the day at 7 am with a trip to Chicago to face their opponent, Harper College.

The Logger's started off slow in the first half as they gathered their bearings to later triumph with a 4-1 result. LLCC scoring started off in the first half 10 minutes in with a beautiful pass from Darwin Soto to Vlad Joseph. As the Logger's gained momentum in the half they as they gained another great goal with Connor Carnduff assisting Tajay Small on a breakaway, which Tajay buried in the back of the net.
Second half play was dominated by LLCC as they scored two more goals to secure the win. Tajay Small assisted Joel Mutela with the first goal of the second half, and later assisted Harry White with a very unselfish pass that Harry buried into the back of the Harper net.

The Logger's out shot Harper 24 shots to 8 overall and made life less than comfortable for the Harper goalkeeper. Ubaldo Olvera guarded the goal for the entire first half and the majority of the second, while making two terrific saves and allowing no goals. Charlie Otta finished out the game in goal allowing one goal on a penalty kick. Charlie made the initial save of the penalty kick only to have the officials offer the Harper shooter another opportunity, which was strategically placed in the back of the Logger net.

The Loggers are 1-0 to start the season as they knocked Harper College back to 0-2. The Loggers Soccer team looks to take the pitch tomorrow against a 9th Ranked Triton College. Both Coach Dunas and Coach Gonulsen were very pleased with the effort from the men today and the result.
