Springfield, IL – Aper signs pro contract with the Miami Marlins. Today, Ryan Aper signed a professional baseball contract, making his dream of playing professional baseball a reality. Aper was selected in the 6
th round of the major league baseball draft by the Miami Marlins. He was the 172
nd pick in the draft.
Aper was a two time NJCAA All-American in both years at Lincoln Land Community College. He was also selected this year as NJCAA Region 24 Player of the Year. This year the 6'3 outfielder for the Loggers posted 96 hits (.462 BA) and 17 homeruns. Aper had 12 triples and he swiped 52 bases for the Loggers.
2011 Logger pitcher, Devin Moore was also selected in the MLB draft today. Moore was selected in the 27
th round by the Chicago White Sox. Moore went to Indiana State University after LLCC. Devin Moore was 13-9 in his two years at LLCC. He had a 2.49 ERA in 2011. Moore posted 76 strikeouts in 86.2 innings of work during his final season with the Loggers.
