The Lady Loggers lost game one 3-2 in 9 innings against the Parkland Cobras. Parkland scored first but the Loggers responded to tie the game at 1-1 at the end of regulation play. Parkland scored 1 run in the first tie-breaker, but the Loggers came back scoring 1 run in the 8
th inning to take the game to the 9
th inning. Again, Parkland scored 1 run in the top have of the inning. The Loggers failed to score in the bottom half as Parkland’s winning pitcher Taylor Hull shut LLCC down on three straight outs.
Lincoln Land out hit the Cobras 8 hits to 7. LLCC left 14 runners on base. Losing pitcher was Claire Dubree who went the distance. Dubree faced 35 batters, allowing 3 runs (1 earned), walking 2 and striking out 2. Laura Bonds was 2-for-4 and Chantel Jennings went 2-for-3.
The Loggers dropped game two 5-1. Katie Lange (3-5) was the losing pitcher going the distance. Lange gave up 5 runs (1 earned) on 9 hits and 3 walks with 5 strike outs. Torey Sorensen went 3-for-4 with double. Sorensen and Payton Billups (2B) were the only Loggers with extra base hits.
The Loggers are now 5-3 in the MWAC and 11-14 overall.
