Despite having 21 hits, the Loggers lose game one of the doubleheader with Danville CC Cougars 13-12. Carter Pranger led the Logger hitters going 4-for-5 with 1 RBI. Jerod Pellman was 4-for-6 with 2 RBI and Ryan Aper went 3-for-6 with 1 RBI. Blake Gand, Max Rhodes, Jake Lance, and Cory Fanning each added two hits apiece. Lance had a double and a triple in the loss. Pranger homered in the 2
nd inning. The Loggers scored first but the Cougars responded with 6 runs on 6 hits in the bottom of the first. Starting Logger pitcher Clint Sestak faced 31 batters in his 6 innings of work. Sestak gave up 10 runs on 12 hits and 5 strike outs. Sestak was relieved by Reed Willenborg who went 1.2 innings before being lifted for closer Dan Reiser who came in to work the last 2.1 innings. Reiser (4-1) picked up the loss in game one.
LLCC out hit the Cougars in game two 6 hits to 5, but came up one run short losing 4-3. Max Rhodes was the only multiple hitter for the Loggers going 3-for-3, scoring 2 runs and a triple. Ryan Aper was 1-for-3 and an RBI as he went yard on solo blast to lead off game two. Ridge Ackerman (3-3 for season) went the distance allowing 4 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits with 9 strike outs.
The Loggers are now 18-10 and 7-3 in the MWAC.
