The Loggers left 11 runners on base in game one and still managed to win 4-2. Two hits and a wild pitch put the Cougars up 2-0 in the first inning, but that didn’t faze starting pitcher Ridge Ackerman. Ackerman (6-3 record) allowed 5 hits and struck out 10 Cougar batters in the win. Dan Reiser pitched the last two outs of the ninth inning and picked up his 7
th save on the year.
Jerod Pellman and Blake Gand were the only Loggers with multiple hits; both were 2-for-5. Gand and Cory Fanning both doubled in the 4
th inning. Six Loggers hit safely in the win.
The Loggers scored two runs on 6 hits in game two, losing to the Cougars 8-2. Carter Pranger went 2-for-3 and Ryan Aper hit his 12 homer, but that was not enough to win game two. ICC scored 3 runs in the first and 4 runs in the 4
th innings with their final run coming in the 5
th inning. Derringer Huff picked up the loss with Nick Lampen relieving Huff in the 4
th inning.
