The Loggers defeat Millikin JV on a walk off base hit by Sarah Worster. Worster drove in 2 runs in the bottom of the 5
th to end the game on the run rule 10-2. Number 2 on her back, Sarah Worster was 2-for-2 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI. Kayla Jacobs was 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI.
Freshman pitcher Jaimey Watrous (1-0 record) was the winning pitcher. Watrous scattered 8 hits and struck out 2 hitters in her first start on the mound this year.
The Loggers scored 9 runs in the first inning to take the lead after one inning of play 9-4. Lincoln Land won game two by the run rule, 15-5. Katie Lange (6-9) picked up her 6
th win on the season. Lange allowed 4 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits in the first inning and allowed only 4 additional hits the rest of the game.
Hannah Dudley came to the park in game two thinking offense. Dudley (3-for-4) had two of her 3 hits in the first inning and drove in 3 runs as well as scoring twice herself. Melinda Wilson went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI. Payton Billups was also a multiple hitter going 3-for-4 with 1 RBI. Leadoff hitter Katie Price also went 3-for-4 and scored 3 runs. Torey Sorensen and Kayla Jacobs added 2 hits apiece in game two.
The Loggers are now 21-23 on the year and will play their last double-header at home against Spoon River on Saturday, April 27
th.
