LLCC softball traveled to Champaign to take one Parkland Cobras in a MWAC matchup. The Loggers lost game one 8-1. The Loggers scored one run in the first inning but Cobra sophomore pitcher Taylor Hull said that was enough. She kept the Loggers hitters quiet for the next 6 innings. Whitley Baker picked up the loss as she went all 6 innings. Baker allowed 3 runs in the 2nd and 5 more in the 4
th inning. Lauren Windisch was the only Logger with multiple hits. Windisch was 2-for-3 and she scored the only Logger run.
The Cobras out hit the Loggers 5 to 3 as the Loggers lose game two 1-0. Morgan Smith took the mound and had another solid performance. She allowed 1 run on 5 hits with 3 walks and 3 strike outs. Parkland starter Allison Kimble kept the Logger bats quiet providing little support for Smith. Morgan Smith’s record is now 7-3 overall. Lauren Windisch, Kayla Jacobs and Torey Sorensen had 1 hit each in game two.
The Loggers are now 19-23 overall.
