Game one of the doubleheader against Lewis & Clark went only 5 innings (run rule) as the Loggers won 10-0. Clint Sestak (4-0 record) went all 5 innings, allowing only 2 Trailblazers to reach first base on two hits.
The Loggers had a good day at the plate. Ryan Aper was 2-for-2 with a triple in the first and a homer in the 2
nd innings. Blake Gand was 2-for-2 and Jerod Pellman went 1-for-2 with a double. Catcher Corey Fanning (1-for-3) displayed his power as he homered for the Loggers in the 3
rd inning.
The Loggers out hit the Trailblazers again, 11 hits to 3 in game two. The Loggers won game two 8-0. Blake Gand led the Logger hitters going 4-for-4 and scoring 2 runs. Jake Ingold was 2-for-4 while Jarod Pellman went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and his second double on the day.
Ridge Ackerman, now 3-2 on the season, had an outstanding game going 7 innings and allowing only 3 hits. Ackerman faced only 23 batters and finished the game with 7 strike outs.
Coach Ron Riggle was pleased with the Logger performance, “We swung the bat very well and we had two very good pitching performances by Sestak and Ackerman. Blake Gand had a really good day at the plate.”
