Danville, IL - The Loggers (MBB) played the Danville Jaguars tough earlier in the year and gave the Jaguars all they could handle in the first half today. Early in the game Lincoln Land held as big of a lead as 8 points but Danville scored on 8 of their last 9 possession to close the half and take a 35-30 lead into the break.
Coming out of halftime DACC was on fire. Quickly a 5 point deficit for the Loggers became 16 when Lincoln Land was forced to call a time out less than 5 minutes in. Every time Lincoln Land cut into the deficit Danville made the necessary plays to make sure the Loggers stayed out of striking distance. Danville shot 7 for 11 from three in the second half, a staggering 64%. Lincoln Land was out rebounded by 1 (30-29) and turned the ball over 3 more times (16-13).
"We let Danville get on a run at the end of the half and we let them start off hot in the second. They outscored us 30-6 at one point. It's hard to win when you are giving up runs like that," Commented Coach Chad Jones.
Lincoln Land continues to receive balanced scoring. Sophomore Jeremy Wohltman led the way with 17. Nick Heille chipped in 11 while securing 5 boards.
Lincoln Land returns home and continue conference play Wednesday when they will have a rematch with Parkland.
