The Loggers continued down their winning path with a convincing 5-1 win over St. Louis Community College. LLCC came out strong in the first half as they outshot SLCC 15-0. However, the Loggers only managed one goal in the first half. The solo goal came on a Joel Mutela pass to Tajay Small.
SLCC scored first in the second half tying the game 1-1. Harry White and Connor Carnduff went on a scoring frenzy resulting in two goals apiece. Yuri Pecanha and Rafael Carvalho combined to assist White on his two goals. Connor Carnduff scored his first goal on a penalty kick after being taken down in the box and Joel Mutela assisted Carnduff on his second goal.
Ubaldo Olvera and the Logger defense kept SLCC to one goal and allowed only two shots in the second half. After the game, Coach Shawn Dunas said, "I was very proud of the boys' efforts today. I feel confident that these young men still have great things to accomplish."
The Loggers will travel to Champaign to take on 9
th ranked Parkland College this coming Saturday.
