We played hard against DMACC, but it's a long bus trip and pretty much a local one for DMACC. What hurt was a couple shaky officials' calls--I think this is the first time in my time at LLCC that an official directly affected how a match went, and it's a pity because we had great passing from Emily Orrick and Jassamayn Criss stepped up to hit .438 for the match.
Game one was decided by an early DMACC run of 6 points which wound up the difference in the game.
Game two was decided by a communications error on the court when the Loggers had the chance to tie the game at 24 and instead lost 23-25.
Game three saw DMACC take a six point lead at 16-10, but LLCC came back to tie it before a controversial call ended the game as a 23-25 loss.
Against NIACC we came out and played hard from the get-go. Taylor Harper (24 assists) made good decisions and helped LLCC take big leads in all three games. It's always easier to play with a lead--you can afford to be more aggressive, more confident. You aren't struggling just to get back in.
