April 28, 2012 - Logger baseball splits with Heartland 5-4 and 4-5 at the Corn Crib in Normal, Illinois. Bryce Sablotny got the first game win, now 8-2 on the season. Dan Reiser picked up his second save for the year. The Loggers were out hit 9-5 in the first game. Blake Gand was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Jake Lance and Jake Ingold add a double each.
The Loggers out hit Heartland 8-7 while coming up a run short in the second game. The Hawks and Loggers were tied 4-4 at the end of regulation play. LLCC went down 1-2-3 in the tenth inning. Heartland won the game in the bottom of the 10
th on a one-out double down the line followed by a base hit up the middle.
Nick Lampen picked up the loss in relief (0-2). Ryan Aper was 3-for-5 with a triple. Jake Lance was 2-for-4 and Blake Gand had a double. The Loggers left 8 runners on base.
The Loggers are now 30-14 overall and 12-10 in MWAC.
