The Lincoln Land Loggers battled their way to a 4-0 start to the season after defeating Millikin University's JV team 71-49 Saturday afternoon in Lincoln.
 
The Loggers took the lead after the first possession and never gave it up. The Big Blue of Millikin continued to fight and kept the score close for much of the game. Lincoln Land turned the ball over a season high 22 times which helped the game remain close. The Loggers finally started to put distance between the two squads with around 6:00 minutes left in the game.
 
The Loggers knocked down free throws down the stretch to help seal the victory.
 
Lincoln Land had balanced scoring with nearly every player putting in at least 2 points. The Loggers were led in scoring by Jordan Perry who put in 14 and Marcus Graham who chipped in with 11. Deangelo Dean led the game in rebounding and blocked shots with 6 of each.
 
"We were able to play all 14 of our guys who were dressed tonight. They all saw quality action in the game.  It was good for the guys to get some experience," stated Coach Chad Jones.
 
The Loggers head on the road Tuesday night to take on Rend Lake in their first true road game of the season.
