Lincoln Land Community College Athletics

Sophia is a 2024 graduate of Streator Township High School, where she was a member of the volleyball team for two years. During her junior year, she was named “Server of the Year.” In her senior year, Sophia earned Illinois Central Eight All-Academic and All-Conference honors. She was also recognized as a Times All-Area Honorable Mention and the Offensive Player of the Year. Throughout high school, Sophia was a member of the National Honor Society. She was selected for the Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association All-Academic Team and received Academic All-Conference honors in both her junior and senior years. Sophia played club volleyball for the Illini Elite Volleyball Club and Lions Jr. Starved Rock. Her future plans include attending a four-year university to continue playing volleyball and majoring in psychology. She is the daughter of Rodney and Becky Pence.
