Lincoln Land Community College Athletics

Laynee is a 2025 graduate of Spoon River Valley High School, where she was a member of the volleyball, basketball, and dance teams all four years, earning a total of seven varsity letters. During her sophomore year, she received honorable mention for the Prairieland Conference in volleyball. In her junior year, she was named 1st Team Prairieland Conference, 2nd Team ICAC Conference, and made the All-Tournament Team at the Fulton County Volleyball Tournament. In her senior year, she was again 1st Team Prairieland Conference, 1st Team ICAC Conference, and was selected for the All-Tournament Team in the Fulton County Tournament.

Laynee also served as vice president of the National Honor Society, yearbook, and student council. Additionally, she was involved in the drama club and theatre.

She played club volleyball for the Central IL Elite Volleyball Club. Her future plans include becoming a volleyball coach and high school teacher, while pursuing hair and makeup on the side. She is the daughter of Michelle McKown and Brett Whitsitt.
