Biography

Hunter is a 2024 graduate of Milford High School. She was a four-year member of the volleyball and basketball teams while also playing three years of softball. During Hunter’s freshman year in volleyball, she earned several accolades: All-Iroquois County, All-Conference (Vermillion Valley Conference), Kankakee Daily Journal First Team, and she led the team in assists. In basketball, she received the Horizon Award, and in softball, she was named All-Iroquois County.
During her sophomore year in volleyball, she was recognized as All-Iroquois County, All-Conference (Vermillion Valley Conference) 2nd Team, Kankakee Daily Journal First Team, and received the Swiss Army Knife Award and News Gazette Honorable Mention. In basketball, she was named All-Iroquois County, All-Conference (Vermillion Valley Conference) Honorable Mention, Defensive MVP, and set a rebounding record for a single season with 276 rebounds.
In her junior year, she was selected for All-Iroquois County, All-Conference (Vermillion Valley Conference) First Team, and received Kankakee Daily Journal honors for most aces, along with News Gazette Honorable Mention in volleyball. In basketball, she earned All-Iroquois County, All-Conference (Vermillion Valley Conference) 2nd Team recognition, as well as Kankakee Daily Journal and News Gazette Honorable Mention. She set multiple records: 280 rebounds in a single season, 21 rebounds in a single game, and 506 points in a season. Additionally, she received the Ken Leonard Determination Award and the Dick Stern Defensive Award.
During Hunter’s senior year, she was again selected for All-Iroquois County, All-Conference (Vermillion Valley Conference) 1st Team in volleyball, receiving Kankakee Daily Journal honors for most aces and digs, as well as News Gazette 2nd Team recognition. She recorded 1,098 assists. In basketball, she was named All-Iroquois County, All-Conference (Vermillion Valley Conference) 2nd Team, and earned Kankakee Daily Journal and News Gazette Honorable Mention. She set records for 24 rebounds in a game, 291 rebounds in a single season, and 1,101 career rebounds, earning MVP honors along with the Ken Leonard Determination Award and the Dick Stern Defensive Award. In softball, she was named Defensive Player, along with All-Iroquois County and All-Conference (Vermillion Valley Conference) Honorable Mention.
Academically, she was a member of the National Honor Society for three years, received Academic All-Conference honors for four years, achieved High Honors for four years, and was the Salutatorian. Hunter played her club sports for the Iroquois County Ice Travel Softball and Prime Time Volleyball. Her future plans include attending the University of Illinois to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business and Marketing. She is the daughter of Jon and Tracy Mowrey.
