Kayla is a 2012 graduate of Mattoon High School. She was a member of the varsity softball team all four years. She was named to the Big 12 All-Conference team as a senior. Her team won the Big 12 Conference Championship and advanced to the State Softball Tournament in 2012. Kayla’s competitive softball team, the Mattoon Pride, was a two-time National Champion. Kayla was selected to the Region XXIV All-Region team her freshman year in college. In addition to athletic awards, Kayla earned 2013 Academic All-Conference as a freshman.

She plans to obtain a doctorate in psychology and counsel different types of law enforcement personnel. Kayla is a Chicago White Sox and a Green Bay Packer fan.
