John Marsaglia

Coach John Marsaglia returns for his 11th season as the head softball coach at LLCC.  2013 was the first year in school history for the softball team to make it to nationals.  The Loggers finished ninth at the NJCAA Nationals in Clinton, Mississippi. The Loggers qualified again in 2014 (seventh), 2015 (fifth) and in 2018 (ninth) in the nation. Coach Marsaglia has been the Mid-West Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2018. His win/loss record at LLCC is 356-205 (2009-2019). He is a retired middle school principal who has also coached softball competitively with ASA/NSA travel softball, high school softball and junior college teams. Marsaglia has provided pitching instruction (Cobra Style Pitching Academy) to over 200 youth softball players from central Illinois. He has been a softball clinician on pitching, catching, slap hitting as well as coaching fundamentals. Marsaglia was a coach for the Central Illinois Lightning and the Illinois Bandits (1992-2003). He was a board member (1993-1998) with the Lincoln Land junior Olympic Softball (UIS complex Springfield). He is married to Jeanie, and they have two daughters (Brianne and Kristen). Brianne played softball at LLCC for Jim Davis (1998-2000). Kristen played volleyball at McKendree University (2000-2004). Marsaglia is also the advisor/spiritual leader of Loggers 4 Christ/Fellowship of Christian Athletes on campus.
