Loggers Drop Both on Opening Day

Loggers 2026 Keep It Close Against Mississippi Delta, Lose On Walkoff

February 13, 2026 vs. Mississippi Delta
A walk-off left the Loggers on the wrong end of a 9-8 defeat to Mississippi Deltaon Friday at Millington. Mississippi Delta were down 8-7 in the bottom of the ninth inning when Sims singled, scoring two runs.

Despite the loss, Loggers did collect eight hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Mississippi Delta had 15 hits on the way to victory. The Loggers jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Bowlesdoubled, scoring one run, Cox singled, scoring one run, Swaney drew a walk, scoring one run, and Barnes doubled, scoring three runs.

Mississippi Delta tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a sacrifice fly by Temple, a double by Counts, and a single by Rodgers. The Loggers took the lead in the top of the ninth. Bowles singled, scoring two runs, to give Loggers the upper hand, 8-6. Mississippi Delta took the lead, 9-8, in the bottom of the ninth thanks to singles by McGowan, and Sims.

Daniel earned the win for Mississippi Delta. The hurler surrendered four hits and two runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Winkeler stepped on the hill first for Loggers. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Roberts started on the hill for Mississippi Delta. The righty allowed two hits and six runs over one and one-third innings, striking out three and walking five.

Bowles, the Loggers number seven hitter, led the team with three hits in four at-bats. The Loggers had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Turner and Swaney led the team with two bases on balls each. Bowles stole two bases. The Loggers ran wild on the base paths, piling up three stolen bases for the game.

Mississippi Delta accumulated 15 hits in the game. Sims and Counts each collected three hits for Mississippi Delta. Gonzalez and Sims were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Mississippi Delta. Anderson and Temple each collected multiple hits for Mississippi Delta.

All Offense In Loggers 2026 Loss Against Jefferson College

The Loggers bats were strong against Jefferson College on Friday, but it wasn't enough as the Loggers fell 20-7 at Millington. Jefferson College collected 12 hits, while the Loggers had eight.
The Loggers opened the scoring in the first after Lennington singled, scoring one run.

Jefferson College captured the lead, 4-1, in the top of the third when Gray singled, scoring one run, Sands doubled, scoring two runs, and Marquez induced Creech to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

Jefferson College scored six runs on two hits in the top of the fifth inning. Hendrickson drew a walk, scoring one run, Gray singled, scoring two runs, and Wilson homered to right field, scoring three runs.

The Loggers scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth inning. Glenndrew a walk, scoring one run, Brown drew a walk, scoring one run, Moffatt singled, scoring two runs, and Marshall singled, scoring one run.

Jefferson College scored nine runs on five hits in the top of the sixth inning. Hookedrew a walk, scoring one run, Poyer induced Weiss to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Wilson singled, scoring two runs, Sands doubled, scoring three runs, and Hooke singled, scoring two runs.

Redfield earned the win for Jefferson College. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and one run over two innings, striking out three and walking two. Buhs took the loss for Loggers 2026. The righty went two and one-third innings, surrendering four runs on four hits, striking out two and walking one.

Moffatt led the Loggers with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Bowles, Marshall, and Lenningtoneach collected two hits for the Loggers. The Loggers turned one double play in the game.

Jefferson College piled up 12 hits in the game. Gray, Wilson, and Sands each collected two hits for Jefferson College. Wilson and Sands each drove in four runs for Jefferson College. Evans led Jefferson College with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating nine walks for the game.
