The Loggers swept their competition on day 2 of the Madison Invitational, starting with Kankakee Community College 25-20, 25-19, 25-8. Ella Kinkelaar spread the offense so well, earning herself 28 assists. Kailyn Jefferson, Sami Johnson, Izzy Link, and Gracie Brockett each had 7 kills, while Savannah Kaeb had 4, and Ella Kinkelaar had 3. Kaylee Abens and Gracie Brockett aced the Cavaliers 5 times each and Kinkelaar aced them twice. Libero Izzy Lynch contributed 11 digs, Ella Kinkelaar had 7, Sophia Pence and Morgan Cowdrey each had 4. Savannah Kaeb had 2 solo blocks, and Gracie Brockett had 1 solo block and 3 block assists.
The Loggers finish the day with another sweep of Lakeland University's JV team 25-23, 25-22, 25-22. Izzy Lynch picked up 18 digs, Ella Kinkelaar had 15, Sophia Pence and Morgan Cowdrey each contributed 7 digs, Kailyn Jefferson with 6, and Kaylee Abens with 5. Savannah Kaeb put up 4 solo blocks and 3 block assists. Izzy Link led the Loggers in kills with 8, Kailyn Jefferson had 7, Savannah Kaeb had 6 kills, and Ella Kinkelaar lit up while setting out of the front row with 5 kills. Ella Kinkelaar earned herself another double-double with 24 assists. Kaylee Abens aced the Muskies twice, while Morgan Cowdrey, Sophia Pence, and Ella Kinkelaar each aced their opponent once. The Loggers play at home for their Timber Takeover match this Wednesday, September 17, against Spoon River College.
