Game 1 - Loggers Triumph Over John Wood CC

The Loggers defeated John Wood CC 4-1 on Saturday. The Loggers got on the board in the top of the fifth inning after Nolan Turner singled to center field, Seth Winkler singled to right field, and Payten Mugele doubled, each scoring one run.
The Loggers scored one run in the top of the seventh on a solo home run to right field by Kaeden Bowles. Andrew Hendrickson earned the win for the Loggers. The hurler gave up one hit and one run over seven innings, striking out four and walking three. Tyler Dance took the loss for John Wood CC. The hurler went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering two runs on three hits, striking out seven and walking two.
Nolan Turner and Seth Winkler were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Loggers. Payten Mugele, Kaeden Bowles, Nolan Turner, and Seth Winkler each drove in one run for the Loggers.
Haidyn McGill led John Wood CC with one hit in two at bats. John Wood CC turned one double play in the game. John Wood CC were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Michael Stupavsky made the most plays with 10.

Game 2 - Ford Drives 4 Runners Home In Loggers Victory Over John Wood CC

Jack Ford drove in four runs on three hits to lead  the Loggers past John Wood CC 9-7 on Saturday. In the second inning, Jack Ford homered to right field, scoring three runs. Both offenses were strong at the plate as the Loggers collected nine hits and John Wood CC 13 in the high-scoring affair.
John Wood CC got on the board in the first inning after Mark Wolak induced Gavin Duran to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored. In the bottom of the second inning, John Wood CC went back into the lead after Evan Sohn walked, Haidyn McGill singled down the right field line, and Kevin Martinez hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
John Wood CC added one run in the third. Alejandro Couverthie doubled down the left field line, making the score 5-3. The Loggers tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a fielder's choice by Jack Ford, and a single by Colbie Glenn.
A double by Gavin Duran gave John Wood CC the lead, 7-5, in the bottom of the fourth. Colbie Glenn singled to left field, which helped the Loggers tie the game at seven in the top of the eighth. A home run to right field by Ethan Hurst gave the Loggers the lead, 9-7, in the top of the ninth.
Garrick Winkeler earned the win for the Loggers. The reliever gave up eight hits and two runs over six innings, striking out five and walking none. Ethan McMasters took the loss for John Wood CC. The right-handed pitcher went one and one-third innings, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out one and walking none. Mark Wolak led things off on the mound for the Loggers. The pitcher surrendered five hits and five runs (three earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking three. Landon Gilliland started the game for John Wood CC. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and five runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking three.
