Loggers Win Two Against Vincennes

Game 1 - Loggers Rally Defeats Vincennes University Trailblazers

The Loggers trailed by as many as four, but came back to best Vincennes University Trailblazers on Sunday, 7-6. Vincennes University Trailblazers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Vincennes University Trailblazers first got on the board when Jevan Andrews singled, scoring one run.

Kaeden Bowles singled to center field on an 0-2 count, which helped the Loggers tie the game at two in the bottom of the fifth.

Vincennes University Trailblazers made the score 6-2 in the top of the sixth after Carter Gricius homered to left field, scoring two runs, Brody Fessel singled, scoring one run, and Jaret Phillips singled, scoring one run.

The Loggers tied the game in the bottom of the seventh thanks to a single by Seth Winkler, an error, a sacrifice fly by Ethan Hurst, and a fielder's choice by Colbie Glenn.

Ryan Oswald earned the win for Loggers. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking none. JD Bowser took the loss for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The righty went one-third of an inning, giving up four runs (two earned) on two hits, striking out none and walking two. Andrew Hendrickson stepped on the hill first for Loggers. The right-handed pitcher gave up four hits and five runs over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking five. Eastin Whaley began the game for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The righty gave up four hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Bryce Buhs appeared in relief for Loggers.

Seth Winkler and Colbie Glenn each collected two hits for the Loggers. Ethan Hurst, Kaeden Bowles, Seth Winkler, and Colbie Glenn each drove in one run for the Loggers.  The Loggers turned one double play in the game.

Carter Gricius provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Vincennes University Trailblazers with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Nate Montgomery, Jaret Phillips, Carter Gricius, Brody Fessel, Yancey Edlin, and Jevan Andrews each collected one hit for Vincennes University Trailblazers. Jevan Andrews stole two bases. Vincennes University Trailblazers stole five bases in the game. Vincennes University Trailblazers turned two double plays in the game.

Game 2 - Loggers Take Lead And Never Look Back In Win Over Vincennes University Trailblazers

The Loggers won big over Vincennes University Trailblazers 16-5 on Sunday. The Loggers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Andrew Hendrickson singled, scoring two runs, and Colbie Glenn was struck by a pitch, driving in a run.

The Loggers added one run in the second after Ethan Hurst grounded into a fielder's choice. The Loggers scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. Nolan Turner singled, scoring two runs, Ethan Hurst drew a walk, scoring one run, and Payten Mugele singled, scoring two runs.

The Loggers added five more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on two hits. Jack Ford tripled, scoring three runs, and Colbie Glenn homered to center field, scoring two runs.

Trent Koehler earned the win for the Loggers. The starting pitcher surrendered seven hits and five runs (four earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking three. Wyatt Burris took the loss for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The left-handed pitcher went two and one-third innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking four.

The Loggers tallied 13 hits in the game. Loggers's Jack Ford, the number seven hitter, led the Loggers with three hits in three at bats. Andrew Hendrickson, Kaeden Bowles, Nolan Turner, and Seth Winkler each collected multiple hits for the Loggers. The Loggers had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. Ethan Hurst and Seth Impson led the team with two walks each. Loggers turned one double play in the game.

Carter Gricius provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Vincennes University Trailblazers with two runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Leadoff hitter Bradyn Douglas led Vincennes University Trailblazers with three hits in three at bats. Vincennes University Trailblazers were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Carter Gricius had the most chances in the field with four.

Loggers will travel to St Charles Community College for their next game on Tuesday.
