Lincoln Land Sweeps Vincennes on the Day

Game 1 - Loggers Surge Past Vincennes University Trailblazers Thanks To Big Sixth Inning

The Loggers defeated Vincennes University Trailblazers 9-0 on Saturday thanks in part to five runs in the sixth inning. Braylan Smith doubled, scoring two runs, Kaeden Bowles singled, scoring one run, and Nolan Turner doubled, scoring two runs. The Loggers were the first to get on the board in the second when Brooks Neuhoff homered to left field, scoring two runs. The Loggers scored two runs in the bottom of the third on a home run to center field by Seth Winkler.

Mark Wolak earned the win for the Loggers. The starter allowed 10 hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking none. Carson Allen took the loss for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The starting pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, giving up seven runs on five hits, striking out six and walking four.

Nolan Turner set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading the Loggers with two hits in four at bats. Braylan Smith, Brooks Neuhoff, Nolan Turner, and Seth Winkler each drove in two runs for the Loggers. The Loggers turned one double play in the game. The Loggers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Nolan Turner made the most plays with six.

Game 2 - Mugele's Big Day Propels Loggers Past Vincennes University Trailblazers

Payten Mugele collected four hits in four at bats, as the Loggers defeated Vincennes University Trailblazers 15-1 on Saturday. Payten Mugele hit a solo home run to right field in the fourth inning, doubled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and doubled in the second inning.

A single by Corbin Napier put Vincennes University Trailblazers on the board in the top of the first. The Loggers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 6-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Brooks Neuhoff that drove in two. A double by Seth Winkler extended the Loggers lead to 8-1 in the bottom of the third inning.

The Loggers scored seven runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Payten Mugele hit a solo home run to right field, Brooks Neuhoff singled, scoring one run, Andrew Hendrickson was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Ethan Hurst doubled, scoring three runs, and Payten Mugele doubled, scoring one run.

Seth Impson earned the win for the Loggers. The pitcher surrendered three hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking none. JD Bowser took the loss for Vincennes University Trailblazers. The starter went two and one-third innings, surrendering eight runs (five earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.

The Loggers tallied 16 hits in the game. Andrew Hendrickson, Nolan Turner, and Colbie Glenn each collected multiple hits for the Loggers.

Nate Montgomery, Corbin Napier, and Jakob Hoyer each collected one hit for Vincennes University Trailblazers. Corbin Napier led Vincennes University Trailblazers with one run batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-2 on the day.
